A traffic type is just the bucket you’re using to count and target your users. Traffic types are completely customizeable, but the two most common are user and account. Using multiple traffic types gives you more flexibility during rollouts. For example, if you maintain both user and account types, it’s easier to roll out:
A feature to 10% of all individual users, regardless of which company they belong to and
A feature to 10% of all company accounts, regardless of how many users they have.
Traffic types can be any primary key you can define in your customer database. For a more detailed explanation of traffic types, including how to begin configuring them in Split, view our documentation on Traffic Types.
